The Most Expensive Zip Codes, 2005

April 29, 2005

Although I was somewhat surprised by the #1 most expensive ZIP code, I was not surprised to see California represents half of the top ten ZIPs, and nearly two-thirds of the top 25 in the Most Expensive ZIP Codes 2005.

  1. I’d be curious to see the list on a cost-per-square-foot basis instead of per-sale. I read somewhere that 10028 (upper east side) was the wealthiest zip code, probably in terms of the total wealth of everyone living there.
Here’s the “Most Expensive” list sorted by ZIP:

10028 barely makes it on the list at #149, bested by even Brooklyn Heights (11201).
