Acura RDX drivetrain in the RSX/TSX/Accord?

March 22, 2006

Acura’s newest vehicle (to be released summer 2006) is the RDX, Acura’s answer to the BMW X3 it seems. Its a nice looking car, for an SUV. But whats intriguing is the drivetrain: AWD and a four cylinder turbocharged engine producing 240HP, 260 ft-lbs. Finally a Honda/Acura with torque!

The RSX is about 5 years old now. Maybe we’ll be seeing a sporty coupe from Acura with this sweet AWD turbo setup soon now?

  1. The problem with Honda/Acura has been their transmissions. They make the engines more powerful but their transmissions can’t hold up to the power and end up failing *alot*.
