Burnout; Privacy

December 6, 2006

After 10 years as a proud software engineer, I’m still unsure if my recent transition to a managerial role can be equated to crossing over to the dark side. However after just completing a mandatory two day course called ‘Managing Within the Law’, I find my brain has already been rewired on what I pick up on. Two things that caught my attention tonight: [preventing] burnout and new rules from the Supreme Court on Electronic Discovery and Evidence (in short: companies may be required to keep email, IM records, etc forever. Thanks Enron, for further eroding our privacy.)

Sigh. I better get a dose of coding in next week to balance things out…
