Star Trek Humor

June 13, 2007

Cleaning up my blog, I noticed this entry I drafted over a year ago, but apparently wimped out and never published. Pfft.

(Arena was the best episode EVAR!)

  1. and did you notice in “Galaxy Quest” the reference to “make a weapon out of some stuff you find”?

  2. Ya, that was awesome:

Alexander Dane: You’re just going to have to kill it.
Jason Nesmith: Kill it? Well, I’m open to any suggestions.
Tommy Webber: Go for the eyes, like in episode 22!
Jason Nesmith: He doesn’t have any eyes, Tommy!
Tommy Webber: Go for the mouth, then, the throat, his vulnerable spots!
Jason Nesmith: It’s a rock! It doesn’t have any vulnerable spots!
Guy Fleegman: I know! You construct a weapon. Look around, can you form some sort of rudimentary lathe?

  3. Yes, most triumphant. Although, I have to say that I think “The Doomsday Machine” was the best episode ever! Have you checked out The New Voyages? “In Harm’s Way” revisits The Doomsday Machine.

  4. Tom permalink

Ah yes, the battle with the Gorn. One of Kirks finest moments and a deciding factor of why he was a better captain than Picard. # 37. Kirk once made a cannon out of bamboo, sulphur, potassium nitrate, charcoal and then fired diamonds into the hearts of his enemies. (Need we say more?)

  5. I love seeing that rock formation in about 20 other TV shows that film in So Cal. Some of Shatner’s best acting was pushing that rock up the hill.
